Anne-Marie Millard - Pre Natal

Pre Natal

Being pregnant itself is a daily workout and, as the months progress, even the simplest task can be strenuous. Of course, this is not everybody's experience; there are a lucky few that manage to sail through glowing and glamorous for the whole nine months. There are ways, however, that can tip the balance in your favour and consistent exercise is one of them.

Research has shown that exercise during pregnancy can make the mother feel more comfortable, shorten labour and reduce the need for obstetric interventions. It can also not only help to maintain your physical fitness but give you a much more positive body image (which is priceless when you are eight and half months pregnant).

However keeping fit during pregnancy has a very different mind set to my normal fitness programmes. Having run, speed walked and worked out everyday and generally bounced around like a space hopper whilst pregnant with Tabitha, when it came to Matilda I just sat down and refused to move (yes seriously).

There are loads of different factors to take into consideration so every client and every pregnancy is different. But it is worth the effort, believe me!
